Frequently asked questions.

What are some benefits of sensory play?

Sensory play is great for children's development! Some of the benefits include:

  1. Builds nerve connections in the brain that enable your child to complete more complex learning tasks.

  2. Supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

  3. Enhances memory and can help calms kids who are anxious or frustrated.

  4. Allows kids to learn different sensory attributes, such as hot, cold, sticky, dry, wet, etc.

  5. Helps develop awareness of their senses through hands-on learning.

What age(s) are the sensory kits meant for?

Our kits are meant for children ages 3 and up. The kits include small pieces and are not suitable for children under the age of 3 due to choking hazard. Adult supervision is necessary.

How do I play with my sensory kit?

Our kits are perfect for open-ended, imaginative play. It is amazing to watch children's creativity grow as they play with kits. We also offer 2 sTEM challenges for each dough kit.

I ordered a kit, when will it ship?

We ship individual orders of kits 5-8 business days after ordering. Holiday shipping takes 7-10 business days.

What are the ingredients in the sensory dough?

  • Flour

  • Salt

  • Vegetable oil

  • Cream of tartar

  • Food Coloring

  • Occasionally glitter/confetti. This can absolutely be left off upon request!

If your child has life threatening allergies, we do not recommend using our dough, as we cannot 100% guarantee cross contamination.

What is the shelf life the sensory dough?

Unfortunately, we are unable to put an exact shelf life on our sensory dough because it is food grade ingredients and made with zero preservatives. The dough is best kept in an airtight container or plastic wrap and stored in a cool dry place.

The more it is played with, the longer it will last! When properly stored and frequently played with, you can expect the dough to last for 3+ months. Please ensure hands are clean and dry prior to playing :)

Why does my dough appear to be dry or crystalized?

Since our dough is homemade and nontoxic, salt is the only preservative, you may notice crystallization on top of the dough. This is NORMAL! In order to ensure that your dough doesn't dry out prematurely, please knead and place it back in plastic wrap or an airtight container after each play. The more it is played with, the longer it will last. :)

What happens if my child ingests some of the dough?

Our playdough is made of food-grade ingredients and is nontoxic; however, we do not recommend excessive amounts to be eaten. Adult supervision is necessary.
